Features and Benefits |
|
Wide Range of operation - The Model 6500 Visible
Spectrophotometer can be used between 320 and 1100nms (at 0.1 nm intervals), while the Model 6505 UV/Visible Spectrophotometer extends this range to between 190 and 1100nms (at 0.1nm intervals). Photometrics, Spectrum, Scanning, Multi-wavelength, Quantitation and Kinetic measurements are all implemented in a user friendly manner. |
|
Graphics Display - Both models feature ¼ VGA back lit monochrome LCD giving a clear
readout of calibration data, sample data and all set-up options. |
|
Keypad - A simple, easy to use, keypad facilitates setting experimental
parameters and initiating sample analysis procedures. |
|
Lamp Housings - A removable rear panel allows easy access to the Halogen lamp
(on both instruments) and the Deuterium lamp (on the Model 6505). |
|
Sample Compartment
- A large compartment is fitted to the instrument
to house the full range of accessories developed for the 6500 series. Various sizes of quartz, glass and plastic cuvettes
are available for sample volumes down to 50µl. |
|
Printer - A 40 column impact mechanism printer can be fitted to either
instrument to allow a hard copy of all readings to be produced. The printer is capable of reproducing spectrum, kinetics and
quantitation scans graphically for future reference along with appropriate statistics. The 6500 series also includes a Centronics Parallel Port drives a IBM PC compatible desktop printer. |
|
Good Laboratory
Practice - This is supported by a series of features.
A user set identification number is be entered into any instrument (up to 20 digits in length) and this number will appear
on any printouts produced by the instrument. Also contained on each printout is a sample number, the sample reading, the units
of measurement, the wavelength of analysis and the current time and date. The instruments are supported by traceable calibration
standards to provide the on-going accuracy required for Good Laboratory Practice protocols. Each unit carries the CE mark
and is covered by a three year warranty. NOTE: The deuterium lamp is warranted for 1 year. |
|
Data Handling and
Interfacing - Both instruments incorporate a bi-directional
RS232 interface allowing remote operation, calibration and interrogation by an external personal computer. This operates over
a fixed baud rate of 1200 bits per second. Results can be downloaded to a personal computer by a single touch of the print
key. |
|
Automatic Results
Log - Readings
can be stored in a data file when the print key is pressed or at a user set time interval or by a multiple sample assay using
the eight position cell holder. Data files have a user entered identification and can be saved in the instruments internal
memory or to a data memory card. Results saved in the instruments memory can be transferred to a memory card. Both the internal
memory and data memory card have a 1 megabyte capacity and can store up to 50 spectral/kinetics/quantitative scans. |
|
Method Storage - Method storage allows all user set parameters to be saved
against a user identification. A method can be subsequently recalled which configures the instrument (including operating
mode) to the saved parameters. The instrument settings settings for a recalled method can be altered and subsequently saved
against the same or a different method identification. Methods can be saved in the instruments internal non-volatile memory
or to a data memory card. Methods saved in the instruments memory can be transferred to a memory card. The instruments memory
has the capacity to store a minimum of 50 methods. |
